Exercise 3 - Design using NURBS curves

A odd looking building called Kunsthaus Graz by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier.

3Dmax building design inspired by the Kunsthaus Graz.

Had problem making the perfect curvature for the body of the building. The lines weren't connecting at the right position resulting the body of the building to twist like a twisted vase at the pottery stage.
At this stage, my PC crashed 4 times and I had to redo 5 times before Mr.Angus reminded me to save the file after every step. However, redoing 5 times definitely helped me memorize all the steps in creating this building in 3Dmax and understanding how to design using NURBS curves.

Then, Mr.Angus asked us to add in the 'horns' at the top of the building. Had a great laugh when Mr.Angus made all sorts of funny i-am-so-frustrated sounds. He went around the class helping every single student with the curves and the horns. Great lecturer!

Rendering the building. It looks like a human heart with tubes of veins protruding out.

Since everyone was putting in sculptures and human scales beside their building, I've decided to be a little bit more 'kiasu' and put in a battleship!! MUAHAHA!

I'm starting to love ComApp class all thanks to my neighbour, ShikWei coming up with all sorts of funny shapes and designs, and opposite me, Victor who is very brave in exploring 3Dmax and helping me out with my 3Dmax problems, and not to forget, a great lecturer that's learning with the students instead of just teaching the students! Special thanks to Della and ChaiYuen too. Having all these wonderful people together, I always look forward to ComApp class and have no problem waking up 6am in the morning for it :)

Assignment 1 - 3D Model

House in Beach Palabritas.

1. Tracing of plans in Google Sketchup.
Its my first time using this software.

2. Tracing of elevations

3. Extrude the walls.

4. Add in fenestrations.
It almost killed me.

5. Imported to 3D Max and turned out like this.

 6. Light rendering in 3D Max.

16 hours after previous food intake, 26 hours after last bonding with my bed.

Exercise 2 - F**king House

One hut with two windows and ten thousand buttons in 3Dmax, total time usage 4 hours.
I hate 3Dmax.
File was named fuckinghouse.jpeg
If you were in Friday's 8am class, you should know why.
PS/ a big thank you to Mr.Angus for being very patience with us that day because it took us some time to get use to the software.

 a vase.

Felt super sleepy in class because it was a 8am class on a Friday.
Big thanks to ShikWei's weird vase for making me laugh through the whole 4 hour class.

 My product :)
Looks weird though :/
Special thanks to Victor for helping me out.
